Where do the months go?
Wednesday, May 30th, 2007I have this theory about time going by faster as we get older. When we are 5 years old, a year is one fifth of our known existence. In our 40’s, that same amount of time is now 1/40th of the total time. So it would feel faster as we get older. But my gosh, It’s already the end of May?. I have 8 shows over the next 2 days at Murray Middle School. That will be a great test of endurance. I told for an hour last week at Hugh MacRae Park for 135 8th graders from Ashe County who visit this area every year as part of their end of the year trip to the coast. My friend Joyce Grear who also tells professionally has been part of their Wilmington experience for the last 5 years and recently asked me to tell in her place. What a blast. I can only describe it as my best performance yet and the reaction from this large group of 8th graders was very gratifying. I also will say they were very polite and appreciative of the experience. My thanks to all the teachers.
I am putting together a collection of sacred stories for church youth groups that will be available soon. Peace.
The whole art of teaching is only the art of awakening the natural curiosity of young minds for the purpose of satisfying it afterwards. – Anatole France
